What began in 2012 as a husband-and-wife partnership between Matt and Shalin Caren is, by design, still exactly that: a two-person team serving Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Verrado, Buckeye, and the surrounding West Valley, backed by $100M+ in career sales and 130+ five-star reviews, and guided by a simple principle: doing right by the people we serve isn’t just good business, it’s what gives our work purpose.

Why We Stay a Two-Person Team
The Caren Team is intentionally a two-person real estate team led by Matt and Shalin Caren. Every buyer and seller works directly with Matt and Shalin throughout the transaction. Clients are not handed off to junior agents, showing assistants, inside sales reps, or rotating team members. The two people you meet at the first consultation are the same two people who price your home, run the showings, negotiate your contract, attend the important appointments, and answer the phone when something comes up.
We built the team this way on purpose. Large real estate teams can offer scale and volume, but the trade-off is usually a different experience for every client depending on who gets assigned. We chose consistency, accountability, and senior-level involvement instead. It means we take on fewer clients at a time than a high-volume team, and it is the reason so much of our business comes from referrals and repeat clients.

Matt Caren
Co-Founder & Team Lead
Matt co-founded The Caren Team alongside his wife Shalin and has spent his career helping West Valley families buy and sell with honesty, responsiveness, and zero pressure. Clients know him for digging in until they have an answer, going the extra mile on showings and negotiations, and treating every transaction like it’s his own. Matt has been part of The Caren Team since its founding in 2012 and, together with Shalin, was featured in the December 2025 issue of West Valley Real Producers magazine sharing the team’s journey and their “It’s your move” philosophy.
Shalin Caren
Co-Founder & Team Lead
Shalin brings a sharp eye for strategy and negotiation to every transaction, paired with the kind of warm, clear communication that puts clients at ease. Together, Matt and Shalin have built their business on long-term relationships, not single transactions, and they live right here in the West Valley with their family. Shalin’s negotiating and marketing work has helped drive results like a golf-course-adjacent home near The Wigwam that sold for $1.6 million, a sale that was also covered by the local Litchfield Park / Goodyear Independent newspaper.
